About MethodSec
MethodSec was founded by Dan, an experienced application security expert with a strong background in software and security engineering. He brings extensive expertise in application penetration testing, combining deep technical knowledge, advanced manual testing techniques, and an attacker-driven mindset to uncover complex security vulnerabilities that automated scanners often miss.
At the intersection of traditional offensive security and artificial intelligence, Dan leverages both established and custom-developed AI agent systems to assess web applications, APIs, client-server software, and other internet-facing systems. His approach emphasizes operator-led, human-in-the-loop agentic testing, where AI agents augment hands-on security research under continuous human oversight and direction. By combining the creativity, intuition, and technical judgment of an experienced security researcher with the speed and scalability of AI-assisted workflows, he expands assessment coverage, investigates complex attack paths, and uncovers vulnerabilities that conventional testing approaches may overlook.
Dan is also an active participant in bug bounty programs, where he has successfully discovered and responsibly disclosed critical vulnerabilities affecting Fortune 100 enterprises, including companies ranked among the Fortune 10. His security research spans web and mobile applications, APIs, and IoT devices.
Dan holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and a master's degree in Software Engineering.
